Moving a patient up in bed with two caregivers
Patients often slide down towards the bottom of the bed over time and need to be moved back up. This needs to be done if the feet are touching the footboard of the bed or if the position of the patient is not lining up with the bending points of the hospital bed (if one is in use). It is easiest to do this with two people, but a different video shows how one person can do this.
After repositioning, if using a hospital bed, elevate both the leg and head portions in order to create “V” shape, as this will discourage some of the tendency to slide down towards the foot of the bed.
